Default Is there a gain

I really like the mufflex catback but is there a noticeable gain in hp to make it worth it.

A catback alone might get you 5-10 hp, but nothing that you will probably notice

If that is the version with the good merge and 4", then yes it is worth it power wise.

Magnaflow flows good, minimal gains to be had with a nice merge.

I bought the car with the setup that's on it. Looks kinda homemade to me after the ORY but I think the exhaust on ls cars are weird anyway. So I don't guess I know what to look for as far as a good merge is concerned

Stay away from the Mufflex with the Spintech muffler, thats on par with the Flowmaster for the worst flowing catback

It is. They have the Flowmaster merge Y pipe which is great. But Mufflex uses 3 different mufflers. A Flowmaster which is from what I understand also pretty bad, a Magnaflow which is just a straight through muffler which is great, and the Spintech mufflers which are crap. I remember a few years back I got in an argument with a friend about this and was able to pull up multiple threads about losing double digit horsepower/2 tenths+ at the track

hawks third gen also sells a 4" catback with no muffler so you can add the muffler of your choice or no muffler at all.
