Default Slp intake

Can anybody tell me what that hose coming out the left side of the intake is for. The hose runs to the bottom of the car but to nothing basically. What purpose does it have? Thanks

Should be for the A.I.R. (smog) pump and maybe PCV fresh air intake I reckon.

Its the AIR pump. If your car is older than 2000 (or 2001, cant remember) then you will just plug up the hole. Or if the emissions have been deleted.

The AIR is useless; it's for emissions. It blows air into the exhaust manifold for the first ten minutes until your cats heat up...it's to trick the pcm into thinking the emissions are clean on a cold startup. Most people just rip out the AIR system and get the resulting codes deleted.
