quick camshaft storage question

Default quick camshaft storage question

what can i do to keep my camshaft from gettin rust built up on it. i have to beable to store it like this for about 2 weeks before i can put it into the motor. thanks

ps it is a used camshaft

keep it out of the rain [lol] no seriuosly just coat it with some oil,it wont rust if its inside[or some grease than just clean it when ready to use

I kept mine coated in oil inside plastic wrap for 2 months. No rust, slid it right in.

Do not coat it with oil! Use WD-40 or a similar water displacer. Oil will cause it to rust as fast (or faster) than leaving it alone.
