Default Weight Savings

I am trying to make my car as fast as possible. I have some buddies with mustangs that I have to beat. Its now time for me to start losing some weight, and I was just curious what are some of the things you guys have done. Keeping in mind that I still want to be somewhat comfortable, and its not my everyday car. I was reading previous posts, and I just wanted to have the info tailed toward my setup.

i was wondering the same thing, my buddies GT stang had a GIANT chunk of steel bolted to the bottom of the rear end (i told him it was for vibration dampening i guessed). is there anything like this we should know about?? im going to lose the AIR system this summer. i might start taking the spare out because i am never more than 5 miles from my house. i also never put more than 1/4 tank of gas in it (mostly cause im a cheap *** with no pump-patience).

1) Remove Spare Tire and Jack
2) Remove Rear seats, seat belts, belt buckles
3) Remove Radio, speakers, amps
4) Remove AC as wel las anything inside that isn't bolted in or necessary (ie. passenger seat, glove box, console, power windows, locks etc.

I dont want to remove my radio or ac. Is the back seat easy to put in and take out? I have never tried.

the back seats are avery easy to take out, and the wonderful thing is, that underneath is carpet all the way back. It isn't too hard to make it look somewhat factory. Although I must say, I don't think the back seats weigh too terribly much. They are just some padded leather on top of the prefabricated body.

Yeah the bottoms have one bolt each holding them to the floor board, then the back has two bolts holding it in.

Yea i just took mine out last nite and they didnt weigh much at all, dont know if anyone will read this but i just posted a thread asking where i can find interior carpeting so i can box in those gaps in the floor from where the bucket seats go? Anyone know w/out having a week wait for shipping, possibly a store i can drive to right now, i hate unfinished projects.
