Default Slipping clutch too long???

I was out tonight practicing my launch. Did a nice 7-8 second burnout with the nittos. Then took the car to about 3200 and slipped the clutch while applying the gas. I slipped the clutch for about one second or so. When I was done, I could smell the clutch. About 45 minutes later, I could still smell it. I know im probably murdering my clutch. My question is whether or not I'm slipping it too long? Should I barely slip it? Or just dump it at 3200?

Just slip it as fast as you can to not let the car bog.

With nittos, I dump at 4500 rpms in 2nd gear to do my burnout at the track, then launch at 2500. My launch is basically a dump... don't slip the clutch too long otherwise you will get that nasty smell every time.

never dump the stock clutch with stock gears on dry concrete with nittos in second gear. you are luck you didnt smoke the clutch. tires must be wet to do that safely. also with stock gears there is no need for a second gear burnout. i still did 1st gear burnouts with 4.10's and got the nittos plenty hot.
