New to the LS world always been a die hard GM fan own a 85 Silverado now with some mods! but I want faster! im going to get a 01 ss 6 speed in the next few weeks! I want to make around 450rwhp without the nitrous or forced induction YET. the first mod will be new exaust and 4.10 gears! I want a mean sounding cam preferably a choppy/rough idle can yall help me select my parts on a deacet budget. this will be over a year or two not all at once!

4.11 gears in the stock size 7.5" 10 bolt behind stock hp with a 6 speed is just waiting to grenade never mind with 450whp , start with rear end upgrade if you know your going to be making that type of power with a 6 speed car , auto is different they are no where near as hard on rear ends.

what do you recommend? just remember im a 18 year old with a 400$ a month car payment

first get a second ,and third job ..you can find used bolt in HD rear ends for these cars ,for $1800 and less in the used parts sections of this forum.you will need a good flowing exhaust system. you will need ported heads,the just right cam ,and a fast intake to make 450 rwhp.you will need many other parts also..check the vendors to the right for parts .

I remember being 18, and my advise to you would be to put a catback and a lid on it and call it good till it's paid off. As far as the 10 bolt goes it will be fine as long as you leave street tires on it, and don't have any wheel hop. If you plan on drag racing much at all a 9 inch rear should be pretty high on your to do list.

thanks yall but deff not gonna leave it that at exaust and lid im pretty set on 450whp in the next year or two ive got the $$$ just cant buy everything at once little at a time id like to get some specifics on cam sizes that run well and what does everyone thing about ls6 intake on ls1
