I don't "think" the 4L80E was offered behind the LQ9 as a factory option but could be wrong. That said, I need to order a new starter for a project vehicle. Do I need to know the LQ9 donor vehicle or the 4L80E donor vehicle when talking to the clueless counter guy at the local corner parts store? Basically, is the starter configuration tied to the engine or the trans?
