Default Oil pan

I need to fit my lq9 with a front sump oil pan. Most of the used GTO pans are going for well over $ 250 on ebay. Ive lost three auctions. I can buy a Canton for less than that. It is my understanding that the OE pans are a structural part of the block, how much will an aftermarket pan affect the integrity on the block? Is OEM the only safe way to go?

Thank you
OJ
