Default replace 3rd brake light

I've run into a problem removing the 3rd brake light, on my '98 SS. In that there doesn't seem to have enough slack in the wiring to remove the light. Sound familiar? I couldn't find any answers on you tube.
I would appreciate any advise. Thanks

On my Z28 I just removed the other ones first, reducing the tension. Unless I'm misunderstanding the question?

Default Replace 3rd brake light . . .

Thanks for the reply,
Yes, I removed all screws.
There are 3 in the light connecting it to the spoiler.

Your ride sounds sweet!

i think you have to remove the plastic inside the rear hatch to gain access to the connector. It was years ago when my spoiler brake light was loose because the plastic of it was cracked, I ended up pulling that off to epoxy together along with removing the SS model rear spoiler... and vaguely remember i could not simply remove the brake light off the spoiler.

Thanks for the reply!
Holy smoke! Incredible that GM would not have designed a more simple fix for replacing that light. I supposed that the light its self has failed, or maybe the connection. It has worked intermittently in the past several months, then completely dark.
Your input greatly appreciated!
