Question C5 M6 vs. A4

With the IRS, lower weight, different trans ect.. Is an auto with a TQ still the way to go or does the M6 hold some advantage ( not seen by me ) in the 1/4?

For 1/4 mile racing an A4 with a T/C is going to be more consistent. Make sure you get the 3.15 gears with it. Having said that I personally would not want an A4. Unless you drive in a lot of stop and go traffic the M6, to me, is MUCH more fun to drive. Its a sports car after all.

Please don't let this turn into an A4 vs M6 thread I just want to know if I'm missing something as far as Vette's go. I'm thinking that there MUST be something different between an LS1 Fbod and an LS1 Vette trans. running the 1/4 mile?

A4 C5's come with either a 2.73 (standard) or 3.15 (performance) gear ratio. A4 F-Body's have a 3.23 ratio. Other than that they're pretty much the same. Hope that answers your question. Otherwise I'm not sure what you're trying to ask.

Stock an M6 is a little better.

Add a TC and the auto will make the M6 cry with at least .2-.3 better time slips.
