I have only had my z28 m6 for about a week, and already a guy at my brothers work wants to race. He has a 1992 mustang gt. Its a 5.0 body with a 347 cu. motor swap, has a t56 manual transmission, headers, edlebrock intake, running no cats, and maybe a lil more stuff i dont know about(this is what i have been told). The car looks like ****, but you never know. The car is loud but im not impressed. I have a lid, k&n, corsa and and b&m ripper shifter. Should I go for it??

hows it sound sound like theres a Big cam in there?.....big loping idle?...if not than it shouldnt be TOO much of a worry....than again he already has more mods thatn you...and will adapt to them nicely on a similar sized motor....its probably anybodys game

there is no lope, just a loud blaaahhhh. He raced my brothers 1989 automatic stock trans am gta, and pulled him by 2 cars.

if he dosnt have a cam you will win...unless you cant drive. If he does have a cam, you might still win....Just race him. and post up the resuls in the street racing forum.

a GTA isnt fast lol atleas ti havnet seen any ones that are that iteresting accept for one...hes supercharged so i really dont care lol...i still think i can hang with him ill find out wihen i get my LT's GMMG and tires with soem suspension for sure....hes alreayd got that kinda stuff,...lol....but yeha youll win in this case.....drive good

well all i have to say is this.... if the motor in that car is built correctly, he would stomp your *** from here to new york....

but since you claim he has no big cam or nothing done... and a GTA beat him, you will have nothing to worry about...


where in houston is this guy at... im sure i have seen it. But i noticed you said he has a T-56 tranny in it... is this car blue by any chance on a chrome wheel, very clean and low to the ground??? I dont believe it is him, but if it is, DO NOT, i repeat DO NOT RACE him, unless you plan to get destroyed.

^ He said that the 5.0 only beat the GTA by 2 cars, not vice-versa. Either way if that's all he beat a GTA by, then he (camarodave98) has this race in the bag with no problems at all. Also, he said the car looked like ****, so I imagine it isn't the same 5.0 as the blue one on chrome wheels that's "clean" that you're referring to.

I recently beat a foxbody 5.0 that had a freash 351 swap, thats what he said anyways.
it had a small cam, headers, and the other normal bolt ons (intake exhaust, ect...)
my car was stock and had the SES light on from the cloged cats.

but like bigbronco said if its built right he'll get your ***... can it ever be built right with a blue oval on the front? fords can be fast/nice but there not my thing.

BTW- isnt a 347 a stroked 302?

Now the thing is, you need a good flowing ford head... not that Trick flow twisted wedge Bull ****... currently with the cam i have designed and the heads i will strap on my motor, i should make about 450 to the rear wheels and on dope, i should clock over 550 rwhp

Sounds like it will be a good race!! I am not in any way knocking you or your car down.(I own two Chevy's. 1)-'99 Camaro SS build #3900 and 2)- a 2001 Monte Carlo SS). But like it was stated earlier, if that Ford stroker is built right, I think he will take you. BUT, BELIEVE ME, I want the LS1 to SMOKE THAT A-S-S!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!! Let us know the results!!!

Dont get too cocky. I have a friend that has a 91 with a 5spd and a 331, He has Trick Flow Twisted wedge heads, a lunati cam, and other various boltons plus headers, xpipe, and flowmaster. He is faster than me. His best so far is a 13.2, but he just like us, has a hard time hookin up. I can usaully hold up with him, but I wont catch him till top-top-top end.

If this guy built his 347 even decently, then he is gonna be tough to beat. Those ford engines are torque monsters, good luck, and win one for the chevys
