Buying a '93 Camaro help!
Is there anything I need to watch out for in that year?
It is a 3.4L V-6 Manual 5-speed transmission with 97,000 miles looks to be in excellent condition for $3900
We are going to check it out much better on Friday. what should I look for?

Yup, stay away from the 3.4L motor. It is extremely expensive to fix ANYTHING on that motor. I had one, and it cost $600 to replace the alternator, and $900 for the intake manifold gasket. More than double what it would be for either repair on a 3.8.

I've also got a 94 3.4, if I would have know then what I know now, I would have went w/ the Z28. Don't get a 6 banger, look for an 8. Should be about the same price. My $.02

Get it for that price..
I had a 94 3.4L Firebird.. Not one problem with it.
I bought it with 45K miles in 2001. I traded it in on my Z28 in Dec. 2003 w/ 107K miles and it was still running strong.
The 3.4L is pretty stout little motor. You're not gonna beat much out on the street, but if you're looking for a daily driver. Then this is the car for you. I got great gas mileage also.. average 30 mpg the entire time I had it.
I say go for it.. I loved that car.

I know the dealers advertise that the 98-02 3800's get 2 extra miles to the gallon over LS1's ...not exactly too good of a deal. But I don't know about the prior LT1 style body V6's. I know that LT1's are very very fun daily drivers due to their low end torque
