hmmm....how much more power than a "regular" is a factory freak to you? I put down 318 to the wheels, bone stock, so that's roughly 361 at the crank with 12% loss. There are guys that put down more than that. There's still other cars that respond like crazy to mods.

Mine dyno'd well with a lid 327 but low with headers 338-340 but cranked out some 12.5's at 113
And responded well to a small cam 11.91 @ 116.8 with a great driver running it to my lowly 12.2's

My '94 Plymouth Acclaim dyno'd at 91.2whp with NO MODS, lol. Oh, and it weighs 3200 pounds without me in it. 3200 pounds + 91.2whp = EXTREMELY SLOOOOOOOW
On a brighter note, 3200 pounds + 91.2whp = EXTREME motivation to save up for and buy a LS1 f-body. I can't wait to have a fast car. My '95 LT1 is fast but it is not LS1 fast.
EDIT: Oops, I forgot to add that my friend's '01 Z28 M6 dyno'd 319 rwhp stock. He has done all the bolt ons but hasn't dyno'd yet with those mods. I'd say that is a freak for a stock LS1.

Hmmmm I have something to ponder here. Hypothetically speaking, what if the dynos these cars were tested on were not calibrated correctly or operating properly thus giving inaccurate horsepower/torque readings?

.......they probably all were....
since stock 310+ hp numbers always come from a dynojet...
which is just a little better then a g-tech...
a mustang dyno is more accurate but few people like to use it since its usually 5% lower numbers...
the simple truth is that dynos are not ment to tell you how strong or fast your car is...(thats whats the track is for)
it is ment to tell you how much power you GAINED from a mod... thats why you should pick one dyno and go there everytime if you need to test a new mod.....

Dyno numbers are subjective, are the numbers corrected, whats the temp, humidity, DA, light weight oil ect? A lot of times it has been discovered that factory freaks had a slightly different stock tune. I'm not sure what GM was thinking, but two same year cars probably have a slightly different tune from the factory. I think thats more of a factor than the internals effecting performance.

Mine put down 366/366 with all boltons and no tune.... I was trapping 112 with a lid and catback. I'm hoping for 116 with all my mods now. I might go to the track sunday and find out.

I haven't dynoed mine yet, but I ran 13.0 @ 110 bone stock. With my mods, I ran 12.43 @ 114.25. These times were at terrible Dragway 42; at a sticky track like Norwalk, I could probably hit 12.0-12.1. I think that I have a factory freak because I beat most other similarly equipped LS1s including SSs, WS6s, and C5s. I think that many '01s and '02s were freaks because of the ZO6 intakes and the more torquey truck cam.

I havent dynoed my car at all, but when i had just a lid and a cutout I could consistently pull a car on my buddies 2000 z28 that dynoed 325. So i would say I put down around 330 with a lid and cutout. with all my mods now i hope to be at LEAST 350rwhp.

It is hard to say. I guess you would have to take all the numbers and complile an average all based on same mods and conditions. Most "freaks" are only 10-15 over average if I were to guess. Some say mine is a "freak" and it is an LS1 block not LS6. If you search arround you will see that 01+ cars dyno higher than pre 01. I would consider any pre 01 car that dynoed 01-02 average numbers mod for mod to be a freak. And a 01-02 that put down 10-15+ over average to be a freak as well. Otherwise there are too many factors. Conditions, location, dyno type, etc...
