Default Has anyone here ever raced a ZR-1,

I raced one when I was stock, he might have been stock also. He took me off the line good with his wide tires. I thought it was all over because of their strong top end but I caught him and won 13.1 @ 110 vs. 13.3 @ 107. I was a very happy camper, I had just knocked off a legend.

All ZR-1's built from 90-95 had the LT5. The early 70's ZR1 had the LT1. Stock ZR-1's normally run in the high 12's but it is the MPH that they trap at that is impressive which is typically is in the 111-113mph range. They were never meant to be a drag racer but more of a road racer. It was round the 110mph point that they kicked it up a notch and took off.

I'll never own one, and that makes me sad.

I raced one twice, (friends step dads) first time i one cuz he missed a gear, second time he beat me by a car length, his tail was even w/my front end. It was a really fun race and those things are awesome.

I got to drive my boss's black ZR-1 a few times...awesome car except for the red interior. I have no doubt that it would beat a stock LS1 F-body.

Drove a handful or so when I worked as a detailer. And yes all 90 - 95 ZR-1's are equipped with the LT5. They are some serious machines, no doubt they woul own a stock ls1.
