Default another newbie question

ok guys i know that the newbie questions are dumb to you smart folks but help the rest of us out. i have done searches on which tc is the better one to go with. everyone is split. is tci good for the money or should i go with a yank or a vig. also i have never been inside a car with a high stall that has a lockup converter. what stall is good for street applications and when is the lock up noticed. and do i need a shift kit for proper shifitin or will programming fix.
i have a 2000 z28 w/3.73,pacesetter lts,underdrive pulleys. any help would be appreciated thanks.

You didn't say if you are looking for only street use or track. I ended up with a custom built TCI 3,200 stall with a 2.2 str which is great for the street and also good for the track. I purchased mine from Texas speed which they specialed orderd for me, and only cost me 419.00 plus shipping and very pleased. Price wasn't a factor but I was able to take that extra money I saved and add a trans-go shift kit and a trans cooler.
Yes on shift kit and dont forget a trans cooler which is a must even if you are not drag racing.

118!!! thats smaller then stock... i bet that thing idles like a civic....hahahahaha

j/k...

anything 3200 or higher is fine...
if your not 100% sure on the stall speed you want, then look to vig or yank...
last i heard tci dont restall

I had a yank in my old car and I loved it. I recommend a 3600/3800 stall.

Bigger isn't always better. I guess it all depends on if you have the money for a new tranny if you kill yours. It will die sooner or later.
