Default Future of LS1 Camaros

So, I love Camaros, absolutely love them. The power the look the styling... everything. I want one but I can't have it because im poor as ****. But i'm saving and I foresee purchasing a Camaro in like 4 years. So what do you guys think would be the price of like 00-02 Z28 in good shape in2009. In Addition at that time the engine will have a lot of klicks on it so what would I be able to swap in there, you think LS1 will still be available in a crate. Also would prices for performence parts go down?

thanks in advance

I have already started, I've got 1800 Canadian and I started like 6 months ago. Besides from what I've heard the next gen Camaro is going to be retro I don't like that one bit.Figure I'll grab like a 2002 and replace everything.

The LS1 Camaro stopped being built in 2002 and they are not expected to be back.

If by some good fortune God should smile on us Camaro people then GM may bring the Camaro back but it is more likely to have an LS2 or some other LS?.

So you've been putting away about $300 canadian a month. With 1800 already saved and an average excess of 300 a month, you could be in a camaro as soon as you wanted.

My payment on my 2002 Z28 is $285 american. It had 25K miles when I got it and it's still under bumper to bumper warranty until Sept 01 of this year. My payment would be lower but I still had a little left on my previous car so I took a loan for about 2K over what the car cost. (Tax/title/etc.)

Start doing your homework! Looking around! Talk to some banks!

You could be in a camaro sooner than you think.

A 2000 Z28 in good shape 4 years from now shouldn't cost anymore than $7K american.

These cars have become what the notchback mustang was from 87-93. I think they will bottom out in the $6K range.

even with the break in years? the 02 should be worth something to talk about, even if they come out with an 07 or 08.

The thing is I also gotta be able to pay for insurance which would be ridiculous here, plus gas. So car payments are out I just need to save the cash. But either way right now I'm just curious where LS1 camaros will be 4 years or so down the road. Besides prices for 00-02 LS1 Camaros in Toronto are also around 16k Canadian.

And we can never forget we must have the mods

LS1 parts will likely be avaliable for decades. That's the nice part about sharing a motor with the Vettes, Corvette has such a great following that people continue to restore vettes of all ages, as they likely will with LS1 vettes in the future. This means, so long as those guys can get parts, we can get parts.

Even if/when a new Camaro is released, who says that the style will be popular enough to really impact people's desire to buy F-body Camaros as their toys? Do you think the new GTO has had any negative impact on sales/wants/desires for the old A-body GTO?.....
