Default New Formula Owner

After shopping around for quite a while, I found a 2000 Formula Ram Air. Pewter, M6 with about 70k miles on it. There are some small cosmetic problems that I'll need to take care of, but the car runs great. I picked it up for 11k with a 2 year 24k mile warranty that covers engine and drivetrain, seems like I got a pretty good deal, but regardless, I love the car.

Now, I can finally post on the forums, no more lurking.

Good for you! Formula owners are a distinctive breed ... all the go with a little less show.

Welcome to the club! I just bought a Black 98 Formula over the summer. Almost 120k miles but at 6500 bucks I felt like I could cover anything that needed to be replaced...

I drove it home and couldnt stop grinning. Probably looked like a maniac to people in other cars...

I figured that was coming. I thought about that today when I was washing the car. I'll take care of that tomorrow and post em when I get home from work.

BTW, thanks to everybody for the welcome.

i think its cool having a formula. i always get asked if i swaped a v8 in or if its a 6 banger. here in my town not very many people know what a formula is, they only know about TA'S

They are the rarest F-bodies built except for maybe the Firehawk. Z28, TA, WS6 TA and SS's are a dime a dozen. But Firehawks and Formulas (especially WS6 Formulas) are by far the rarest. I kinda like that

Congrats Chad and welcome to the LS1 club. And a special welcome to the formula club.

LOL the people in my town wanted to know how a tractor service tech with two children could afford a $80000 vette. (police officer asked if I was pushing drugs or something.)

Anyway welcome to the world of Formys. Please do post pics.

I just got one in Oct I was a lurker for over a year. I always wanted a WS6 TA but insurance would kill me so I settled for a Formula. They aren's as bulky as TAs and I saved over a 1300 diff in insurance and I got a great deal 8500 for 58k 99 NBM Formula that is very clean. Now I'm happy I have one and actually prefer the cleaner "V6 look" good luck with your formula.
