Default button next to factory fog light switch?

My friend just bought a 1999 v6 camaro. On the radio panel he has the factory fog light switch and a button next to it. The button is labeled SOS. Im not sure what this is or used for. Any help would be great.

In the owners manual (v8) it's for ASR- Acceleration Slip Regulation and it's a factory option

It should be ASR. If it really says SOS somebody must have altered it. I would be intrigued....
