Default SS exhaust

About two months ago i bought a 1998 SS camaro with 34,000 miles on it. When i went to look at the car before i bought it i noticed that it had single exhaust and no SS emblems above the rear bumper. It does have SS emblems on front fenders though. The exhaust has a 3 inch tip so i figuered it was some kind of aftermarket system. when i crawled under the car i didnt see any brand names like borla or flowmaster. Well last week i really crawled under there and the muffler has GM numbers on it. Also, there is no sticker inside the driver door displaying wieght and tire pressure etc. So why did this SS come with single exhaust, no rear SS emblems, and no sticker inside the door but does have an LS1????

i thought it was only 96 SS camaro's came with a single exhuast? but since you have a 98 Z28 maybe you'd know better than me. if you wanna know if it's a true SS, though go to this link SLP and get the phone number off the web page and just ask if they can tell you if you own a true SS. they can tell you if it is or not what build number etc etc

Might not have looked great, but from what people who have used it say, it flows very well for a stock system.

that reminds me, in 98-02, what was the difference between the z28's and the SS's that accounted for the extra power?

Yes I own a 98 z-28 SS with single exhaust 3''. It sounds nice, and better yet it adds 7 h.p. to the total. The car sounds like it is a true SS, check the vin numbers to be sure! You'll love the car!
