Automatic Vette?

Automatic Vette?
So I am considering coughing up the extra cash for an LS1 Vette if I can find one for a decent price. I was wondering if an auto vette would be a bad idea. Anybody know what an automatic C5 LS1 Vette can run VS a 6 speed?

well i'd say about the same, a manual i like personally just for the fun factor but with a stall converter on the auto it would probably actually be better for the strip. i'd probably say that'd have to be your first mod (if you are going to mod it). whatever you've read about the fbodys and all that, just apply to the vette. you could get a nice bird / camaro ls1 for way cheaper, unless you just really like the vette body style more. hope that little book i wrote there helps ya out some lol.

Well I do LOVE the Vette body style. But if I do get another car (have a 2001 Mustang GT right now) I want something with less or the same miles than my current car because I would be stuck with it for quite a while. And the only low mileage M6 F-Body I have found near me was modded and possibly abused(2002 with 25k miles).
I dunno though. I might end up getting that modded one....

The A4 (depending on 2.73 or 3.15 gears) is ~3 tenths slower than M6 (stock for stock). I do go to the track and love racing but mine isn't a track queen so I prefer M6. I enjoy rowing through the gears and the sense of control of the car. But whatever floats your boat.

A4 should have slightly better ETs (with 3.15s) and M6 should have slightly better traps. M6s are better for roll races unless the A4 is stalled. M6 will always be more fun and get way better mileage, and if you can drive well they're better for roadcourses
they both have their pros and cons

Definitely get one with 3.15s, as they'll feel a lot more lively than one with 2.73s! A 3.15 geared auto C5 can run low 13s no problem in cool weather.
