Default 35th Ss

I have just recently traded my 02 Z-28 a4 in for an 02 35th SS m6.... WOW what a huge difference between the 2 models..I can smoke a C5 and give the Z06 a run for its money,is it just me or is the SS faster than what GM claimed??

unless its got something really going on. it shouldnt be that far off of a z28. i think its mostly in your head. does it have center mounted exhaust? if it does its got the 345 hp pack. that could be a bigger difference. but between a basic SS and z28 the main difference is in suspension and wheels. SS has a slightly lower restriction exhaust. but thats it. let us know.

It may "feel" faster...but it's probably not. An m6 car can feel faster than an a4 that is actually quicker...

Well have you actually raced a Z06? Because my 35th when it was stock would smack my 03 Vette around. It wasn't even a challenge. It also trapped 109mph. But my 35th is M6 and the Vette is A4, so stock for stock the manual gearing was a big advantage.

That's a huge trap for a stock SS

My Z traped 110.18 4 weeks ago at Englishtown with my mods. When it was stock I traped 108.73 in the heat. All these were on the stock tires, I can't wait till the drag radials go on this winter and I can cut my 60' times down. She should run mid to high 12's as long as the rear doesn't go BOOM!

Center mount exhaust OR the Dual-Dual exhaust PLUS the SLP lid options rates the SS (or Firehawk) at 345hp.

Peace,

You sound really smart, the ZO6's have LS6's in them, not LS1's, better heads, bigger cam, better flowing exhausts, they arent the "exact same motor', and no stock ls1 is going to lay close to 345 at the wheels, i asume you mean flywheel. And the guy in the ZO6 he ran probably couldnt drive, if he could his lighter 360rwhp car will put cars on a 310rwhp ls1 car.
