Actually that is a decent price.
Ive seen alot of guys pay a real lot for thier cars on here because things are more expensive down south, and amoung the cities.
Nice car, but a rebuilt title could mean a couple things. The car could have seen a rough 5 years. Check the dash for cracks, open the center hinge, and looks for blemishes inside the car. ( signs of abuse,).
The interior's of these cars are somewhat fragile.
Odd are, if they abused the motor, they might have abused the car.
Pop the headlights and try all the electrial equipment.
Its good to find out.
On the other hand, it could be a really nice car where something small like an unseen oil leak lead to the motor going so soon.
Id offer him 7000 cash, and go from there.
But IMO, dont buy a car because youre getting a deal, buy it because you like it. Fbodies are Sweet, and the ladies like sugar.
Good Luck

For a LS1 f-body to be under 10k, it's got to have between 85 and 100k miles. Anything more than 100k i wouldn't even look at.
Jeez a rebuilt title? I'd steer clear.

who knows. i bought my 1999 t/a with 72k on it for 9500. it had been rebuilt. (then i wrecked it a week later) but it looked like it had been wrecked at least 3 times. it was pretty messed up. but somoetimes its tough to find a really clean f-body but they are out there. i would say pass this one up and try to find a nicer one. you could probably find a 99-00 with 75k miles on it for 11-12. if you wait a bit.

man, even if it is in good shape, it will never be like it used to be..accident effects the cars so bad. some parts looks OK but they are not... one accident is like 100k miles on a car (IMO)

People will not pay as much for a car with a rebuilt title when you go to sell it so if you pay full price you will loose. Some won't even consider a rebuilt title. Offer him $3000 less.

To give you some idea...I bought my 02 Z28 at auction in Oct 03. It had 20,000 miles. Was a flood vehicle. I could see that the water only came up to the base of the door by the water line. I paid 7500.00 and put 2k into it replacing the interior and having every fluid replaced. Total cost 9500. The title is branded so I know I won't get as much for it if I went to sell it but in 2.5 years it has not given me any problem.
I have a relative in the business who knew what to look for so I was confident it was going to be Ok with the right work. I'd be leary about buying any "branded" title car unless you really know what your doing or have a close friend or relative who does.

Any number of things could have caused that car to have a rebuilt title. What you really need to do is check with your local license branch and see if you can license the vehicle in your name with a rebuilt title. In a lot of states you can get a rebuilt title for it but you can NOT plate it. So check that out before you make any decisions.
