Shifting Gears
Just got an 02 TA and Im wondering what the rev limiter is set at? Is it safe to go that high? Ive seen the hypertechs that raise the limiters and allow you to shift higher keeping the vehicle in the power band. Is that a good or bad idea?

I talked to a guy with a formula and he was telling me that our tachs are slow and lagging, which makes it easier to tap the rev limiter, is that true or has anyone heard this or can confirm??

It all depends on how fast the engine is revving up. For example, if you are in first gear, it will be much slower than if you were in 5th gear. First gear lag in my car is probly about 500rpms. I was sick of that so I bought a shift light. Now I rarely even look at my tach. Rev limiter stock is 6200 rpms. When Racing I try to shift at 6199 . The shift light is set at 5800 so it gives me time to react to it lighting up.
