Default 98 formula vs 2003 Z06

I drove a z06, with only 13,500 miles on it. 36,000 out the door. Is this a good deal, and why does it feel cheaper than my 8,000$ firebird? My buddy thinks I'm crazy, to pass this up, I can afford it at only 22 years old (single in the military), but I can't come up with a reason to buy it?

I rember sitting in one of these brand new, and absolutly loved it, but now I'm kind of dissapointed with the interior(too many rattles, and no fitting pannels, and the powerband of the engine, too peaky still rough.

Why would you buy a Z06? Other than the fact that other z06 owners will block traffic so you can get out of steep driveways?

It handles better than an f-body. It's more of a road car than a 1/4 mile monster. That's why I would get one.

My buddy has a ZR1 and a Z06, though, and he prefers the ZR1.

that "cheaper" feeling is 402 horses wrapped in a fiberglass body!!!! if i had the resources to get a zo6 i'd jump on one in a heartbeat!

It's 405hp. (crank hp)

If you don't like the way it feels, don't buy it. You could get an 05 corvette. Those feel much better for an everyday driver and have smoother suspension. When you go over bumps, it doesn't feel bad at all. They also have 400hp. A little bit slower than the C5 Zo6, but a smoother ride and nicer interior. You could find an 05 right around 40ish...Maybe even a little cheaper...

I'm not sure how an LS6 could feel "peaky" it makes more power and torque than an LS1 throughout the entire rev range.

Maybe you are different and a 405hp monster of an engine in a light, fiberglass body feels "cheap" and "peaky" rather than freakin badass, which it is. But ****, if you don't like it, don't buy it...put some more money into your formula and make it badass...

If you have to ask us to talk you into buying it then thats your answer right there. YOU should want it! And not have to be talked into buying it! If you spent the money you would spend buying the vette on your formula imagine what you could do with it??? Hmmmmm the possibilities. Or get a used C-6 like someone above said. They are much more refined and BARELY slower than a C-5 z06.

I've owned 4 C5's including an 01 Z06. I gladly even trade my Ws6 TA for a Z06. Car feels better to me in every way. I really miss my Z06 I sold it a week ago. My TA is ok but get's a little scary above 140. The Z feels great all the way to it's top speed
