Hey guys new girl here, help me pick a car!!!
Hey guys I am new to the forums and need help deciding on a new car to get next spring...My girlfriend is on these forums, DangerouscurvesZ28....Anyways, I am currently in the V8 family, I own a 95 Cobra with a built 308, a 94 Gt with a 331 Stroker, and an 03 Cobra with a larrrrge list of mods, unfortunately, I have an ex who took 2 of those cars from me so I have the 95 Cobra, next summer when I sell my WRX I am gonna pay for my new R1 then its wrather a WS6 or an SS Camaro and I dunno what to get, I was never too much into Camaros or Trans Ams until now but from what I hear about them the trannys are good (Which is the same tranny in my 03) I hear their rearends suck which isnt too bad I'd build it anyways. Other than that I dont know much about them, I like the whole general appearance of the WS6 better, so comeon guys, help me out here

Welcome. Yes you are correct, the T56 tranny is a great transmission, and the 10-bolt rears on these cars are puny.
Choose an LS1 on what appeals to you. The WS6 and SS will perform nearly identical when stock.
And don't forget to load up some pics of your cars

IMO sell the POS Cobra, because fords suck major ***!! Then buy yourself an 01/02 SS, or WS6, so that way you can get some of the last of the breed and get the LS6 intake manifold.

Thank god lol!!! Both cars are equally sick, it just depends on which bodystyling you prefer. They have the exact same parts in them stock, but if you do mae your choice in cars pic one that is 01 or 02. Because those are the ones that have hit the fastest ET's stock.... Happy hunting and keep me updated on your findings.

If your going to modify it anyway, you could just buy a clean Z28 or Trans Am. Save thousands over the SS and WS6 and put your own hood and spoiler on there. I've seen clean, low mileage, unmolested Z28's for as low as $9800.

WhippledCobra - It seems your almost in the same situation I am. I'm also trying to decide which one I want to buy; a foxbody, a T/A, or Camaro. It's proving to be hard saving up enough pennies, and even harder making a choice! I'm sure you won't be disappointed with whatever you choose, 'cause they're both badass cars. Good luck!

My 35th LE has a Donaldson Blackwing air box and an SLP designed cat-back.
They have a Zexel torsen differential also, but in a 7.5 rearend its moot. They put jounce spacers in for the 17' wheels but I haven't seen any particular benefit to those either.
Bottom line, if your going to make any perfomance mods, the factory stuff isn't worth keeping.
