18 cubic inches, ls6 has 10.5:1 compression while the ls2 has 10.9:1 compression. more cubic inches the more power and torque you can get from a motor. IMO the ls2 is a better motor to mod

I'm guessing that you are talking about the intake manifold...the ls6 is better. Most people say not to bother with a ls2 intake swap. There is a bunch of info available if you search.

I think the LS2 is more capable and is a better motor.

A stock LS6 will put about 20whp more down than a stock LS2. On avg. of course and comparing manual to manual.

The LS2 is definitely the more capable motor, considering its bigger and makes about the same power stock for stock as the LS6. Its also a Gen IV, compared to the LS6, which is a Gen III. Not much difference between Gen III and IV, just a few subtle ones, like electronic throttle-by-wire as opposed to a traditional cable throttle.

The LS2 has a broader torque curve as well, so it feels more powerful throughout the rev range than the LS6. That can most likely be attributed to the larger displacement, 6.0 vs 5.7.

Between the two motors, I'd definitely go with the LS2

He has to be talking about manifolds. LS2 blocks are not cheaper than an LS6.
