Default ported or after market t/b

I'm sure this question has been asked alot but here you go again. Is it worth it to buy like a bbk t/b or just get mine ported?

get it ported, unless you plan on stepping up to a 90/90 soon. it's a lot cheaper.

i just went through this samething. I wanted a TB that looked nice aswell. If you look around you can find a BBK cheap used. From what i hear they improve throttle response. Mine is comming in tommorrow or weds. I love how it looks and it comes with a plate to taper down into stock intake. The choice is yours. I spent alittle extra and got what i wanted.

I honestly think after being around the ls1 scene (spectating) that if you are gonna go through the trouble of swapping to the ls6 intake manifold and porting the throttle body, that it really isn't too much to just step up to the 90/90.

I used to think that I could see the difference between 1100$ and 600$, but in all reality now that I am spending 16k+ on a camaro, I don't seem to like the compromising anymore.

so 1100$$$$ isnt any different than 600....lolYuuuurrr sooooo funnnnnyyyyyy......

I bet you still live at home and have no bills or either rich......i ported my own t/b its simple if you have ported before...and ive got 42o in my intake......so how the hell is that not better than 1100 for a 90/90 setup......

you dont need a fast unless you are making 500+rwhp IMO
the ls6 manifolds or similar with a ported t/b do fine at making big power....

Actually I have plenty of bills, even though I do live at home ~60% of my income never sees my account, always paying bills. Considering that I am pre-med and all. I just figure why spend ~600 dollars if there is a chance you are gonna put down some serious power and have to sell them off used. But I guess that I am lucky, my car comes with the ls6 intake manifold.

A FAST 90/90 on a stock displacement car will only gain about 3-6 rwhp over a LS6 manifold. Even on a friends heavily moddified H/C and spray Vette we seen 8whp. Now after the 408 setup we seen 27whp gain. So unless you plan on running something other than a 346ci engine, stay with the LS6 and get a stock ported TB, like the S3 or something.

Just get your stocker ported and polished. I got a Shaner S2 for $125 shipped and it's excellent!
