Unhappy Lost and entering new area of fun

I just inhearited my fathers 1996 ss camaro #1714 i know nothing about
chevys. I am a ford tech for the past 10 years and still working at ford. i will not part with my fathers car and would love to make it quick. but first i need
to know if its a ls1 or an lt1 and what is the differance. then 2nd where can
i get a y-pipe so i can get rid of the cats they are breaking loose inside.
i belive it was because the opti-spark went out that was fun to change along with the water pump. so if anyone could help me i would greatly
appercaiate the help and advice. you can love both fords and chevy. and race both.

Assuming smog isnt an issue for you as you are asking to remove your cats, check the sponsor section. Maryland speed has a special right now on Kooks LT's and Y. you wont be dissapointed.

thanks for telling me its an LT1. i will check on the site for a y-pipe. No smog and emmis. are not a issue in Louisiana. thank goodness and yes the camro is already very quick but a car can never be quick enough. always room for upgrades and new parts
