Default 2000 ss aftermarket Lid

Alright i put an aftermarket lid ontoday and i have an extra hose that came out the left side of the stock box. I put the aftermarket lid on and now there is no port on the aftermarket lid. What should i do with that hose and will it effect my power?

Get a breather filter for it and zip tie it off somewhere out of the way - just don't kink the hose restricting airflow, it'll throw an SES light. It's for the secondary AIR system.

looks like you got the wrong year lid, do what was said above. Its either that or get an 00 - 02S LP lid that has the comes with the hole

so i shouldn't lose any power out of not having the hooked up to the lid and just getting a little breather put on it?

All year SLP lids come with the hole...the 98-99 lid just comes with a plug for it instead of a nipple to connect the hose...I was kinda upset about that when I purposely bought a 98-99 lid for my 2000 because I removed my AIR system (programmed it out and all that nonsense) and I wound up recieving a lid with a plug that I had to install...it's not too big a deal, but you do notice it when you look at the lid for more than 4 seconds.

thats just the inlet for the eletric smog pump, a small breather will be fine.

the lid i bought does not have a nipple on it for the black air hose. the only reason i bought this lid is because the dude gave it to me for a great price. so couldn't pass it up and thats good about it being fine. How much of a hp gain do you get out of these lids?

not much hp gain, but anything on the positive side is good.

Another option is just delete the entire Air system. thats what i did and the engine bay looks alot cleaner. also, not a hp gain, but just looks alot better

I'm not sure if you should delete the A.I.R system if you have cats on the car.
The AIR system pumps air into the exhaust to "light off" the cats, that is to heat them up quicker for better emissions. The rear O2's will send a signal to the VCM if the AIR isn't working. My 2002 was programmed to run the AIR pump for the first 90 seconds on a cold start, so there should not be a performance gain by removing it, just less weight and cleaner engine compartment.
As for the lid do as the others said just cut the hose down and put a breather on it somewhere hidden so it'll look better.
