LT's, either an ORY which is cheaper or a Y pipe with some high flow cats, duals, an aggressive cam (something in the neighborhood of an ms3) would give you over 400 to the wheels. you would most likely need to change the heads to get that extra power which is expensive...or screw all the stuff above n go full exhaust and a 150 shot

depends on how much u want to spend. cheapest way wouls be full bolt ons and some spray. less spray if u wanted a cam. a turbo will get u that much on stock motor and a few bolt ons but a lot more money. are u able to a lot of the work ur self, thats def. going to help with the cost. find a good tuner too

well the only other way would be a huge heads and cam set up with all the best bolt onsand 6 speed, headers and a D1 blower will do it or any turbo kit. look at the forced induction section and check out the stickys at the top. if u can weld and have a way to get pipes bent make a 6.0L kit. thats prob the cheapest f/i set up. good luck

Depends on how you want to get there:
N/A you're going to need to go with the setup teke184 referenced above....great advice. That should get you pretty close to your goal and the car will have constant power and should run quite well on the street.
For a little more $$$, you can go the turbo route. Again, constant power and the car should have pretty good street manners. The downside is that you wouldn't be getting the most out of your setup without the other basic supporting mods (exhaust, LT headers, etc.) as you're leaving quite a bit of power "on the table".
The most cost effective approach is to simply slap a 150 hp dry kit with all of the safety features on. All-in-all, the kit and install will likely hit you for $1K (unless you're savvy enough to piece together your own kit and handle the install). The upside is that it's a cheap way to run 11's! The downside is that it isn't constant power to the wheels (ie. you'd have to run spray every time you tried to match up against another high 11 or 12 second car.
There are your options to meet your horsepower goal. The HP goal is a starting point, however before you start to shell out the cash, I would put serious thought into how you're going to get all of that power to the ground. That should force you to answer the next question: What's more important to me, the horsepower number or how fast the car rolls down the quarter (or perhaps both are equally important). For me, speed was more important than HP, hence I'm trying to knock out the rest of the supporting suspension, tranny, rear, etc. mods along the way to building a stronger motor. I still have a ways to go, however that's part of the fun of it!
