Default Bottle Pressure Question

Just curious how critical it is to be at optimum bottle pressure when spraying, because I had a run with a car the other night that was unexpected and didn't have time heat the bottle up so my pressure was waaaaaaay down. I still won the race easily but my car felt completely different powerwise than it does when i have a chance to get the pressure up in the bottle.

I think it would be, I run at around 1000-1050 or so, basically what I've learned is the higher the pressure the leaner the mix, the lower the pressure the richer it is.

The other bad thing about running your pressure to low is backfires if your running a wet system, and not the kind though your exhaust.

not even close, but on a serious note the car was way down on power hopefully caused by the extremely low bottle pressure. Tim told me when he tuned it that it would be way down on power if i didn't have the bottle at the desired pressure.

I ran a 150 shot with 720'ish bottle pressure the other night...It dropped .6 seconds off of my 1/4 ET and gained only 5mph(normally I gain 11-12mph)...It was a very dumb move and on a bigger scale it probably could have went so rich that you'd be lifting ringlands or mis-firing...

yea, i will not be doing any unexpected nitrous runs anymore. I new it wouldn't run near as good as it should but just didn't know it would be as bad as it was.

On a dry system it wouldn't harm the motor, just wouldn't run good. On a wet system the fuel is still going to it so it would have been real rich!

What brand solenoids are you using? I know some can open with more pressure than others. Maybe it's just time for a rebuild, the seats could be wearing out.

hsw Less then 2 months on the car...couple bottles only. turn bottle on run and turn bottle off no extended amount of time with pressure on the noids

you guys... haha wow each kit has a specified bottle pressure, if its to low. it will still add the fuel at 58lbs regaurdless so if its to low to much fuel.. to high then not enough fuel or to much n20.. think bout it.

and get it right, dont loose ur motor.

get a damned nano kit.
open the bottle and you're instantly at optimal pressure that is going to stay optimal throughout the run.
