Question Safe hit for hyper pistons

Hey guys whats the biggest shot you'd spray on a hyper. piston? What i have is a 6.0 bored. 040 running flat top hypers on stock floating rods with arp bolts stock crank. Heads are 243's ported n polished up and milled .010. Running cometic gaskets at a .051 thickness. Wanna do a direct port wet kit that NX offers with the fuel rails. Says up to a 150 shot. This safe on these piston? Heard theyre stronger than stockers. This true?
Thanks in advance!

You will be fine on a 150hp shot no problem.

People have taken stock pistons to 300hp shots and if these are stronger than stock you should be able to hit 150hp shot on the motor without a problem.

Thanks guys!
300 on a stock piston? Damn!!!
Not sure but was told a hyper pison was stronger than stock. I guess kinda in between stock and a forged piston?

Totally under estimated is the stock piston. I think one reason they live so long is the hyper and stock pistons have very tight wall clearances compared to forged setups, say 0.0015 stock(what my ls6 was) vs ~0.0075 to ~0.0125 for forged. large p/w = shitty compression and oil burn.

That huge azz wall clearance is WAY worse for rings than a stock piston. Of course once the forged motor is well warmed, maybe not so much diff.
The other advantage is less swelling by hypers on warmup, so you can damn near crank the engine, do a burnout and hit the juice.

Yeah thats what i heard about forged motors. Theyre tough but loose when theyre cold due to the fact of how much they swell when hot. Main thing that had me worried was the compression factor im running. Supposed to be somewhere around 11.3:1 range and im on stock head bolts not arps. Just arp's in the rods.

I use torque to yield stock head bolts on 11.7:1 compression. I use stock style head gaskets and bolts. To date, no problems. Once torqued the stock head bolts stay put. Not sure how much they can take, but I think ALOT of properly tuned HP.
