Default what gears and tire size you guys running with your shot?

first off happy thanksgiving ls1tech!

so just ordered my nitrous outlet wet plate kit. my motor is a 383 fully built and gapped for a 300 shot. never been in a nitrous car yet but im going to spray anywhere from 150-200 and thats it. my car has 4.30s in the 9 inch and right now a 26 inch tall tire which i know im going to redline with spray. my redline is 7-7200 maybe a little more if the cam is still pulling. if i go up to a 28 inch tire would that be good enough on the spray?

Are you asking if you will have enough gear for the 1/4 mile if you go to a 28' tire?

I know there is calculator somewhere that figures this stuff out. If I had to take a wild guess at 7k with a 4.30 gear, and a 28 in tire, that might put you around 125 mph in 4th on a M-6. If that's the case then it won't be enough probably

I have 4:56's in my stock shortblock M6 with a 28" tire.
With a 150 shot I go 134-135 running out of gear just short of 1320'
That's at 7100 rpm's.

I'm also going to be changing my gears. I'm thinking of Going with 4:30's
But I'm not sure that will be enough? Might have to go to 4:10's?
I just really don't want to lose the mechanical advantage.
I'm adding about 100 more hp. Wondering what my top speed will be
With 4:30's??

I like the idea of nitrous m6 = 4.30s with 28" tire. That setup will give you 139mph at 7200rpm

4.30 would probably get you 141-142 at the same 7100 RPM. 4.10 would be closer to 149-150.

So you guys think I'll probably gain 5-6 mph going from 4:56 to 4:30?
All the calculators I've tried suck! There not even close.

I don't wanna do it twice, but I don't wanna go 4:10 either if it's
Not necessary.

On 28's with a 150 you might be able to make it through the 1/4. When my camaro was a street car with 4.30's, th400, 28's on a 300 shot I couldnt make it through the 1/4. With 3.90's I could make it through the 1/4 on a 300 shot barely.
