Default Bottle blankets - really necessary?

How well do they work? How long do they hold the heat in, keeping pressure up? Do you recommend them?

TNT make 'em? I've only seen the NOS brand ones. I wouldn't want a NOS blanket sitting on my TNT bottle

NOS blanket supplys about 25% more power than the NX heater: 300watts -vs- 240 watts and can be adjusted with electric thermastats for press you want. I have mine set-up so when ignition is on bottle heater is heating and shuts off automaticly. Oh yea, NOS heats in 80% of the time that it takes NX blanket.

I think he's talking about bottle blankets not bottle heaters.

The blankets help hold the heat in, keeping the bottle pressure at a staedy level. The NOS blanket holds nothing on the NX blanket. The NOS is just a thin cover. The NX is more like a Quilt or bullet proof vest. Its deffinlt a awesome piece.

The NX part is a nice part. It is more like a jacket tight fitting. Completely covering the bottle and keeping the outside temp, from effecting the bottle temp. Highly recommended.

Ok a blanket helps hold in heat, but does it also block outside heat/cold from coming in?

In other words could you leave a bottle with a blanket on it in the car on a hot day and not have to worry about it getting too hot? or heat the bottle to say 1000psi, turn the heater off and have it maintain that kinda pressure on a 40* cold night?
