How much can you spray off the line and not have traction issues?
Basicaly my question is at what point do you need a 2 stage and when would you want to bring the 2nd stage in.

How much are you looking to spray total? The answer to your question depends on about 100 different things, motor setup, suspension setup, tire size, direct port vs. plate... we need a little more info, but I would be happy to help.

Whats the total amount of nitrous your looking to add? Does it dead hook on motor?

Well if it hooks that well, I would bring in 200 off the line and and 150 on the second stage, or vice versa if you have trouble hooking 200.

The other way you could do it, is run a progressor, and jet the thing for 300 or so, and bring it in at 50%, and set it to bring the full 300 in after the 60 ft.

Sounds like the car hooks pretty well.

Thanks,
Garrett

Unless you already have a 2 stage kit, I would just invest in a progressive controller. The NOS Mini controller is cheap and has a lot of nice features. It can be started at whatever percentage you want and then ramp the rest in over a straight line time ramp. Example if you jet up to a 300 hit from your existing 150, you could start it at 50% and set the ramp time to bring it all in by 1 second flat to get everything in before the sixty foot, or slow it down to 1.5 seconds or longer if the tires won't take it. It even has an adjustable delay built into it in case you have a bad track prep day.

Now if you're existing kit won't flow as much as you want, then you can look into a bigger kit and a progressive, or a 2nd stage with a controller.

As said, how much you can hit off the line can only be determined by testing. A car with big tires and wheelie bars can obviously hit it harder off the line than you can with a 275/50/15 drag radial. I'm honestly surprised you are able to hit it with potentially 650 rwhp on those little tires off the line as it is.

I have no idea what my coupe makes at the wheels, I'd guess on the nitrous I'm somewhere close to 1000 at the crank. On a 275/60/15 First Gen Mickey radial, I use the NOS Mini to control the hit. I don't have any fancy timing controllers, just a digital 6 ignition with 16* total timing on a .130 jet single entry plate. If the track and tires are good, I can bring it all in usually by .8 seconds with a start percentage of 20-25%. If prep or tires are weak, I slow it down to 1.2 seconds or slower. I've been a 1.26 sixty foot on those first gen mickeys, but they have a little more sidewall than your 275/50 tires.
