Default nitrous-timing-knock retard-gas

Ok, here is my situation, I'm running a 200 shot on a dp kit, 92 octane(10 gallons) and torco fuel additive(roughly 103 oct)my spark advance is 32 degrees wot. Without the nitrous it pulls out 2 degrees roughly of timing(pump gas) On a 100 shot I put 420 to the wheels, 150 shot I put 427 down, and a 200 shot I put 444 down. I'm sure I have lots of knock retard. Any suggestions? I only put 125 down on a 200 shot. Should I pull out timing? Run 112 leaded gas? Will this fix the problem without messing with the timing? Can someone also explain how exactly the knock retard effects the spark advance. I guess I should say, it is 95 z, w/ th400

Oull some timing out and it should fix your problem. Also im not sure about the additive.I would just run atleast 104 oct.

Your timing is way high. Back it down. And you definitly need some better fuel, higher octane.

Put in a few gallons of Xylene (117 octane) or Tuolene (114 octane) available in 5 gallon jugs ($8-10/gallon) from a paint supply store (Sherman Williams). These chemicals are found in gasoline but happen to be used in the paint industry and are in most octane boosters. Wear gloves and glasses/goggles.... you don't want to spill this stuff on your skin.

When you add the little 32 oz octane boosters (Torco etc) found at the auto parts store they say it adds 3 points... they mean 92 octane is now 92.3 octane. You need more volume of additive to effectively increase octane in your tank.

I was really into Buick GN's before the LS1 and we would mix 7 gallons of 92 with 3 gallons of Xylene, and 3 ounces of Marvel Mystery Oil (lubricant) to make 100 octane homebrew. Could run a ton more boost/timing. Do not exceed 30% Xylene or your car will suffer from poor cold start symptoms.

Always increase your octane level when running NOS. You are lucky your motor didn't blow. Even on 92 octane 32* timing is maybe a little much.

i second the toulene/ xylene usage. i used in on my old car to run more boost (dsm) and it worked wonders- got rid of almost all of the knock and was undetectable to the nose (racegas has a distinctive smell where toulene/xylene does not).

do a search on yahoo for the exact formulas to use when mixing the toulene/xylene with your regular premium gas, you don't want to use too much of a ratio of it but if you use too little you won't see results.
