a bit of carnage
Hey guys, this is not LS1 but definately juice related
I was doing some impromtu racing this weekend with my camaro....heres the rest
running a 150 shot, my dumbass got 2 cars behind off the jump and forgot to shift out of second until I felt the car fall on it's face (read valve float).
end of the run- smoke coming from under the hood.
dipstick blew out and oiled the headers
pcv blew out and now a steady stream of oil smoke is coming out of the breather hole.
car runs fine
at first I was thinking it ate the rings but now I'm wondering if maybe it's a head gasket issue. I didn't hear any detonation (for whatever it's worth).
what do you guys think??
thanks for looking, Nick
ps- I won

well, at least you won.
Do a compresion check and a leak down.
I'd guess its not a head gasket, because everytime I've blown one, I got crazy knock from crossfiring or antifreeze leaking.

would the results of a compression/leakdown test help me narrow down a broken ring or headgasket?
my concern is my work area is not exactly optimum. A head gasket I could do, but I don't have the ability to pull the motor right now...
anybody ever had a head gasket blow straight to the oil galley?
thanks 860,
Nick

Never seen it, but I'm not saying it couldn't happen. Maybe someone else could chime in who has.
