I havent really pushed the stock stuff too much, did some runs on 220, and loads of 175 with stock rod bolts, never had an issue. I would think if nothing else it would be a little insurance. As for the gaskets, I am running Cometic .040" and ARP Studs, simply because it was a new engine, but doing HC swap, I'd recommend them too. Overkill? Maybe, better to have it and not need it

Id wouldnt do a head swap without using ARP studs...Its worth the money. Personally, Id wouldnt use anything but the GM MLS gaskets as well....

Head studs for sure. I used the cometic because i needed a .040 gasket do to the way the machine shop set my engine up. The GM MLS gaskets are what some of the FI big dogs use. if its good enough for 30# boost its good enough for us

Studs ARP 12 points...i've used Cometic MLS. Use GM MLS right now. The MLS, in my case , because two different metals are being bolted together. Aluminum heads and Iron Block.
