Never seen it done on the gas pedal before. I got an electronic one that pigtails right into the hot wire for the TPS. It is like 2 in X 2 in X 1 in and just sits on my fender pretty much out of the way next to the nitrous solonoids. It is just one wire that runs to the throttle body and can be run in the wire loom around the back of the engine compartment. Then I believe that there is one ground that is shared w/ the solonoids and one wire that goes to relay (you have to get to the relay regardless) and then one wire that runs into the cockpit and attaches to the arming switch. It's about as clean as you can get. I think that it picks up on the 4.5V signal (from the TPS at WOT)and allows the nitrous to engage.
