I have my window switch at 3500, my cam starts pulling good around there and I like to feel it hit!
but really, if you were racing you would have the rpms up higher in the powerband the whole time. I dont think its neccesary it to spray at a low rpm. (except in 1st gear if you can get traction while spraying)

also, let's qualify this a little more. 1st gear under 3000 rpms shouldn't ever be problem. also, it's dependant on how much you are using. 100-150. i don't have any problems with. 300hp, might be a problem. with an automatic car, you have the reliability of the car downshifting for you. for a manual car, in 4th gear (1:1) and at/under 2000 rpms, it will be a considerable load and might be detrimental.

well when going wot after 1st gear your all ways over 4k (i sure its higher then that but you get the idea)
so then only time the 3k window comes in to play is when your launching off the line.
so you could raise it to where your not loosing traction when it hits.
but then some cars never see 3k at all after the launch.
