Default Zex LS1 Wet Kit

Hey all, for now my 02 SS has full exhaust, and SLP lid, I am eventually going to do heads and cam next year but for this year I want to spray a small shot of nitrous. Does anyone have anything good to say about the base Zex Kit? I am thinking about probably a 75 shot to start off with, it will be tuned using HP Tuners. Any input would be helpful, also if you know of any other kits that are big bang for the buck let me know! Thanks!

Zex is good for about a 75 shot, well at least the one i had. The solenoids were just to small to flow the amount of nitrous that i wanted. If the solenoids are in a box, then that is the kit i had. I sold my kit, i either going with a diretport setup or nitrodave plate kit.

The zex is very good beginner system because of the little FMU that comes with the system, but with you having HP Tuners and getting it tuned i'd suggest you go with another single nozzle system. I could set you into a Brand X system that will allow you to spray up to 200hp for $349.99 http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/catalog...roduct_id=2891 .

Along with the system i'd get a window switch http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/catalog...roduct_id=2885 and a FPSS ( Fuel Pressure Safety Switch ) http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/catalog...roduct_id=2553 . This will net you a very good basic system with two major safety items.

I had this kit and it worked great for a 100 shot. But just like any other drug, I had to have more and upgraded>

IMHO, Zex makes a decent kit for the import guys. Thats about it. Most of the Zex boxes I have worked with send a little nitrous to the fuel pressure regulator, causing it to go to cold start mode, maxing the injectors to enrich the fuel during a pass. This works great for the Honda guys and the same setup is used on most Foxbody Mustangs. For an LS1, stick to a dry kit letting the PCM pick up the nitrous and add fuel, or go to a wet kit. You can run the zex kit up to 150 shot. I have been doing this for over a year now with no problems at all. My car is a bone stock 97 a4 c5 vette and it runs high 11's on street tires. The only mod that I would recommend is a set of ngk tr6 plugs. Zex's jetting is already set on the rich side so you will be fine.

Ive been looking into getting this kit. I am looking just for about a 100 shot maybe less and want something affordable and simple. I like how this kit includes the WOT Switch. Is there anything else i would need to make this happen?

If running the ZEX system I would use the ZEX windowswitch.Very simple install.

http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/catalog...roduct_id=2987

I would add a bottle heater, purge and nitrous pressure gauge.

I sourced a Zex direct port kit through Dave @ Nitro Daves a few weeks ago & am very happy with it so far & with the service I got from Dave.

Dave was very helpful and spent a lot of time making sure I got everything I needed, which considering I am in Australia was important.

Mine is set up with the Trick Performance controllers & first time out I picked up around 10MPH and cracked the 140 MPH mark for the first time, only using the system to about 50% capacity.
Now I just have to convert MPH to ET & smash a 9.

One question for you though Dave - can a Nano kit be rigged to Zex type bottles?
My understanding of it is the Nano plumbs before the bottle valve & the Zex bottles dont have ports there - even though I have drilled & tapped into it for the pressure switches already.
