Default HANS devices

If anyone in here is seriously interested in purchasing a HANS device please contact me. I have a vendor that has gone WELL under MAP to do this for us guys that are on a budget (or lack there of a budget). 8 people needed to get pricing and in the matter of half a day I already have 6 commited.

I doubt many of you will jump but I am throwing it out there for anyone that might be interested. Please contact me via PM for price.

It's a device used to support your neck in case there's an accident. I think they made them mandatory in Nascar after Dale Earnhardt passed away.

Yup she nailed it. It is now sanctioned in NASCAR, F1, Indy, SCCA, NASA. Pretty much if it has a sactioning body, your required to use this device. Its the only one to pass FIA standards.

I am pretty suprised they arent already mandated. A couple of the fastest guys on the site jumped on this GP and when they said they werent mandated even as fast as they are running my jaw about hit the floor.

People dont realize it only takes a 35mph impact into the wall to snap your neck WHILE your wearing a helmet. The added mass on your head makes breaking things easier.

yup.

There is an Actical in "NMCA Fastest Street Car" this month about a guy who hit the wall. He figures if he had been using a HANS he was looking at he would have been back to work in a day or two....instead of being at home in a HALO for three months

Like I said before Boyce, I'd really like to get one. Probably SHOULD get one now. But my ego / paranoia says I should spend money on a few more go-fast parts so the car hits 10s & doesn't break. So, are you going for the light weight professional version?

No, the HANS Device comes with a set of helmet anchors that must be installed on your helmet (ie, drill two holes and wrench them on).

If you are looking to get a new helmet, some manufacturers will sell you their helmets with the anchors already installed or with the holes pre-drilled.

Nah, no need for it. The only difference between the two is the pro version is 8oz lighter. I dont spend 4 hours in the car at a shot so I am not worried about 2/3 of a beer sitting on my shoulders for 40 minutes.

If you guys that want one but cant make the friday cut off, I will be doing another one in about 3 months. I spoke to the vendor today and they would be willing to do another one for people that missed this one.
