I've just had it with the brakes on the Olds....I've vacuum assisted 11 in discs in the front and ranchero drums on the back.
From 60, the car takes it's sweet time coming to a stop. Almost dangerous.
I tried an electric vacuum pump and it didn't do squat. Louder than hell, too.
Anyway, got all the brakes in the car stripped out and am installing a set of six piston 13 in Wilwood discs all the way around.
So this is the question...
I'm going to install a Vanco Hydroboost system because I only get 16 pounds of vacuum from the LS1.
Anyone ever used this type of brakeing system?
(uses pressue from the power steering pump for brake boost)

My brother had a similar issue on his 55 Belair with a lumpy cam. I'll ask him what he did.....

I think you'll like the hydro boost system. Ties the brake booster to the Power steering system. My H2 (and many other GM vehicles) runs it from the factory, but it is also available for retrofit because I was thinking about putting it on my old 85 Vette.

I know its the big thing with the pro touring crowd that I read on there forum a lot...supposed to work great.
