Default Well, no longer a Corvette owner...

After doing the math and spending the last few days mulling it over... I decided to get rid of my '94 Corvette. It just was going to be way too much money than I was willing to spend just to get it running right. I think I decided that when I figured out that it was going to need an engine rebuild or replacement for it to truly be right.

So... I got rid of it and got a more sensible daily driver car to go with my Z28. I got a 2001 Impala LS. That's right... a 4 door family car sedan. Don't laugh... But at least it has all the bells and whistles, power everything, leather, moonroof, dual climate zones, 'control center' on the mirror, etc.

And yes... that means the Z28 will be staying in my garage. So... when's the next track day?

Sorry to hear you had to sell it. I hope you made a buck on it though, you picked it up for a killer deal I thought..

Trying to keep two modded vehicals is a serious pain thats why I got rid of my full size blazer and bough the 4door S10, its in decent shape but I don't feel the need to mod it or fix it up. It would look better with some nice 18's and a 5.3 under the hood though.......

Welcome back from the dark side Jason! The next TnT date I hope to go to is April 14th @ B-town. That should give you ample time to get the Impala into the 12s.

That Impala is one of the best most dependable used cars you can buy according to consumer reports. We have an 03.

I hear a nitrous kit does wonders for that.

April 14th, huh? Well then... I better order my new Hoosier DRs pronto. Where'd you get yours from? I think I'm going to go with the 255-50-16s so they'll fit on the wheels I have.

That's what I'm hoping for... I just want a dependable alternative to my Camaro. It was really starting to irk me that my car for weekend warrior stuff was more dependable than the car I thought would make a nice daily driver.

I bought mine thru Schwabbie. The price from Summit was $400 / pr plus shipping & then I'd have to get them mounted & balanced. I paid $500 thru Schwab delivered, mounted, balanced, & with their warranty (warranty on racing tires, LOL).

Congrats Jason! My Father-in-law got a '04 and he LOVES it! It's the first Chevy he's ever owned and he says it's the best car he's ever had.

So are you keeping your Camaro now?

This is by far the nicest and most comfortable car I've owned... and I've owned a Civic, a Talon, an Outback, a Sebring, a Camaro and a Corvette.

And yes, I will be keeping the Camaro. And I should be completing the parts I need for a complete nitrous install here pretty soon, so hopefully in the next few weeks you'll be seeing it at Speed Secrets.
