Just Another Day At The Track
Santa did not have a good day. The car was running good (right up until the fan belt came off & took out a p/s line). It ran 11.88, 11.83 & 11.85, all with 1.6 60' times. And I was focused on the light, trying to do nothing but cut good r/t's. My first time trial was .002. Right on, that's what I was looking for. The next t-t the guy next to me jumped out 1/2 sec early & I flinched & cut a -.017. NOT what I wanted!
So my first elim was against John Barnett. Knowing how good he usually is I figured this would be my test. And damn if I didn't bulb..... -.002. The good news is the day showed me I can get right on top of the light if I focus. Just need to make some more passes.
Bottom line I failed the team & myself. NW F-body is now in 2nd place, and I am in something lower than 2nd. I'll post results later.....FRACK!!!
And yes, you guys were right, everyone else got to make 3 time trials, while we only got 2. I mentioned that to Barb the 4th time I asked her about us being able to get some time only runs, and that is when I got "The Look".

damn that thing runs consistant. sc or no sc it doesn't seem to matter.
Sure seems like both tracks don't want our business very much. If that's gonna continue to be the case I'll just go to monroe and run the 1/8 mile for ***** and giggles.

Yeah, I felt like I failed the team... I cut .035, .029 lights... the Impy was pretty consistent. Figured I'd make some rounds... but then I went up against RC, and I figured like Mark... gotta cut a good light. So, I too redlit... -.009.
Ever since I figured out exactly where I can launch both the Camaro and the Impy (about 4 races ago) to cut .050 lights or better, I haven't gotten out of the first round! WTF? I was doing better when I was cutting shitty lights...

Don't feel so bad guys. As a team you kicked our butts good, racer numbers considered. I feel your pain, Mark, you stated exactly the way I feel about my performance! Best advice I can give is what Don gave me...that's racing! Lets get over it and do some GOOD racing the 28th. See you there, and hope to heck we all run better.

It could be worse, the one and only time I have ever got the bye-run we ended up with an even amount of cars and I redlit, spun like crazy, trying to pedal the car I end up popping it out of first. I then look up and see the win light in the other lane and said "hell with it" and just cruised to a 24.13@41. Oh well, at least I got to show a Yamaha R6 my tailights from 70-120 on the way home.

I hear ya on the equal lane prep. The left hand lane sucked! Im actually getting pretty down on Bremerton lately. Between the poor prep, one less t/t than the other races, and on top of it all not comitting to letting us do t/t after we got eliminated and then saying no after making us wait for hours. I used to love that track, but lately, not so much.

Hi guys - I had a great time at Bremerton Saturday. It was great meeting you all. Thanks to Steve for inviting me.
It was my first time at Bremerton, my first race this season, and first time with new drag radials. I got my best and most consistent times yet - even though I was always in the left lane. I wish I could have gotten one more time trial, and didn't red-light in the second round, but overall my wife and I had a great time. See you on the 29th!
