Default It's a V-8 too.

Just wanted to share some pics of this 5.0 from the new Lexus LS-600h with its CVT trans.

Note the step motors that control the intake cams.

that's their new hybrid ls right? the gs hybrid is super nice much better mileage than its gas counterpart and it's even faster to sixty heh. makes me wonder if the ls hybrid will be similar

The reasoning is precision. With cold starts, the control over the intake valves is such that they can use 0W20 oil. Why would they want to use this oil? Because it contributes to better gas mileage. This 380hp V-8 gets 28mph freeway, 17mpg city.
