02 Z28 vs 99 C5
Well I finally got a chance to race a Vette tonight.
I have seen this guy around a few times, and everytime I pass him, I would throw a rev. And he would throw one back. Well tonight I was driving around and seen him sitting infront of Safeway shopping center, so I flipped a bitch and went over to him. He is Navy as well, and about the same age as me. We talked for a little while, and I told him about this site and all. He was a pretty cool dude. Well finally I was like you wanna run em, and see how it goes. He was all for it.
His mods are just an exhaust, and mine are in my sig, the cam and new tranny, and suspension is not on the car yet.
Well we get out to this old road and we drive the whole length of the road and make sure there were no cops hangin around, and there is a another dude driving a little four banger honda, that came and followed us. So we line it up and I tell him I will honk it off and lets go from a twenty, Cause I have some shitty *** Sumo's, and it is probibly around 30 degrees out.
So he puts the vette in Second gear, I drop mine down to drive, and honk it off. We both spin for about 20 or 30 feet, and were nose to nose. finally we both grabbed traction around the same time, and I start pulling him, around 80 I had a full car on him, and we shut down by 105 cause we were coming up to a S turn. I was about 1 and plus a fender on him. He followed me back into town and asked me again if I was correct on my dyno numbers, witch are 319hp, and so I pulled out my dyno sheet and proved it to him. He was kinda in shock that my heavier car with only 319 beat him.
He is kinda new to the LS1 world, he has only owned the vet a year, and really has no knowledge off it, so I am pretty sure he will be coming on here shortly and realizing that there is a vast wealth of knowledge on this site.
Forgot to mention he was a Manual.
Sorry for such a long story, Hope you enjoyed.

No cam in it yet Evan, but yeah thats the cam I will be putting in it this week.
Yeah the dude was cool as hell. After words we went to the bar and had a beer and played some pool. He whopped my as 5 games to 2. But I still beat him on the street, lol he laughed at that when I said it.

Awesome kill, nothing against the vette owners on this site.
But the corvette owners in our area alway seem to be stuck up semi wealthy guys. Generally they know nothing about cars but believe their car is the fastest thing on the road.
They usually won't race but I have reeled several of them in by opening the cutout & brining the r's up to 3500 while on the hwy. They think I'm in it & they nail it. I let them get a little ahead of me then go.
