Not much you can do to stop it or repair it without a re-paint from the research I have done.
Just be careful using a high pressure washer when cleaning the car, the water will get under the damaged clear and cause it to spread really fast.

Yea my spoiler started flaking in one little area and I didnt notice when I went over it with the sprayer and it spread pretty bad, now when I wash it with a high pressure washer I just go over the damaged area carefully.

My paint isnt nice enough to hand wash with a soft sponge but once it gets re-painted I will always hand wash with a hose.

Good luck with it man.

That sucks having it on the hood, be careful man one 180 mph run and all you will have is flat paint showing

most of my spot is on the hood too. One big spot is in my hard top roof, another big spot is on rear of the car. What the price range to repaint the whole car and fix few bumper crack ?
