Default Removing Paint from automotive plastic>?

Painted my old SLP lid and stock ls1 radiator support a long time ago, the paint is cracked and needs to be repainted before I sell them etc. Any tips or chemicals to remove all the paint from the plastic. Aircraft stripper will melt plastic like none other.. lol...

really isnt much that will melt paint but not plastic.. my advice would be some "goof off" or "goo gone" and a power washer with warm water... that will surely get it off and wont hurt the plastic as long as you dont let it sit overnight... maybe try the powerwasher first then go to chemical... when youre done, repaint them with the vht plastic renewer.. it works awesome...

There is a certain grease that will get it off.......o what the hell is the name of it............Elbow Grease that's it!!! Works wonders and comes in handy project sized containers. For use with sandpaper of varying grits.

Thats awesome.

On the other side of things. There are alot of wheel attachments that will take it off quick and easy. You can also use reducer, laquor thinner, just be sure to rinse it off.

It would help to know what kind of paint you used on it in the first place.

Joshiedoom, just finished stripping my fast 90 intake, if the plastic part is not clear coated you can go and buy some super clean degreaser at wally world, just soak the parts overnight and scrub with a tooth brush, this is a trick plastic modelers use to remove paint from their models and it works as i used this on my intake.

Try some good ole gasoline in a test spot...it usually won't hurt plastic!

I have seen light media (soda) blasting done on a painted intake to strip it.

I traded the parts for a car.. lol, but I was going to get them soda blasted. After doing some more research they make something that strips plastic bumpers, works on all plastics safely.
