to be honest i dont know that much about it...to my understanding it is the module needed to connect to your xm ready head unit...i removed the aftermarket hu, sub, amp, etc. in favor of the stock hu...everything functioned properly...the reason for removal was that the aftermarket head unit display was going out and im not really into sound systems (too much weight..lol)

i just did a search and found this about the xm stuff...it was connected to a Sony head unit

Ok, I guess I was under the impression it connected (somehow) to add XM to the factory system. Thanks anyway.
